Socialinsider alternatives for creators, free and paid, compared on one question: which tools take a single competitor video apart, not just the account.

Best Socialinsider Alternatives for Creators in 2026 (Free & Paid)

A benchmark can tell you a competitor’s engagement rate rose last quarter. It cannot tell you what their best video did in its first second. For a brand team writing a monthly report, the first answer is the job. For a creator deciding what to film on Thursday, only the second one is.

That gap is why creators go looking for Socialinsider alternatives. This page compares six real options on one question: how deep does the tool go on a single competitor video? Several have genuinely free starting points. We build one of them, so treat our description as interested and the facts as checkable. Every competitor fact below comes from that vendor’s own public pages, read on 18 September 2026, and prices move.

What Socialinsider actually does, fairly

We checked Socialinsider’s own site today. It is a social media analytics platform built around competitor analysis and benchmarking across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X and YouTube. It compares your performance against competitors on each network, keeps historical data so you see trends rather than snapshots, and uses AI-powered content pillars to show what is working for competitors and across your industry, including top-performing posts and rising patterns. An AI companion lets you ask questions of the data in plain language.

Pricing, from the pricing page today: Adapt at $82 per month (20 social accounts, 1 seat, 3 months of history), Optimize at $124 (30 accounts, 2 seats, 6 months) and Predict at $199 (40 accounts, 5 seats, 12 months), plus a custom Enterprise tier. API access and Looker Studio are $100-a-month add-ons. The trial is 14 days with no credit card, and there is no free plan.

That is a strong product for someone reporting on many accounts across six networks. What its pages do not advertise is a per-video breakdown: the hook, the structure, where attention drops, why a single post worked. We covered the niche-trend side of this in our first Socialinsider alternative piece and the hook score in Blossom vs Socialinsider. This page is about the depth of one breakdown.

What to look for in an alternative

A useful competitor breakdown answers six questions. We laid them out in how to reverse-engineer a competitor’s viral Reel:

  1. What does the first second ask of the viewer?
  2. What shape is the video?
  3. Where does it reset attention?
  4. What is the audio doing underneath?
  5. What does the video ask the viewer to do, or to send?
  6. Is it repeatable, or was it a moment?

Account analytics answer none of these directly. So ask of each tool: can I point it at one video I did not make, and how many of the six does it answer?

One caveat applies to every tool below, ours included. A breakdown reads the content. It does not forecast views, and no tool can promise a video will travel. Our reasoning is in no tool can guarantee a viral video.

1. Blossom, for one competitor video taken all the way apart

This is ours. Paste any public Instagram Reel or TikTok, yours or a competitor’s, and Blossom returns a full breakdown of that one video. To check the depth claim against today’s product rather than memory, we opened a video from our library through Blossom’s own AI-client connection on 18 September 2026: a 53-second TikTok from a small handmade-goods maker, in the millions of views, showing a product being made while talking about running the business. Here is what came back, without the creator, the caption or the video.

  • The first second. Hook classed as Behind the Scenes, resolving in about five seconds, opened by a light, self-deprecating aside that works as a pattern interrupt.
  • The shape. Format classed as Product Demo, with the timing laid out: around 35 seconds of setup, a payoff of about 13 seconds, moderate pacing, an average shot of about five seconds.
  • Where attention resets. A small personal story runs underneath the process, with its tension peaking around second 40 and a satisfying resolution.
  • The audio. The track is identified and linked to the other analyzed videos that use it.
  • The ask. What a viewer would share it for: emotion, specifically to support a small business and pass on a satisfying process. The identity signal it offers the sharer is “I support small businesses”.
  • Repeatable or a moment. Not part of a series, rated highly as a standalone video, with the satisfying making-of process named as the reason to rewatch.
  • The fix. One named weakness, no clear and direct call to action, with a concrete fix: a specific ask, such as where to order or what to follow for next.

Seven named tactics sat underneath, each with a timestamp range, an explanation of why it works and a note on how well this video executed it.

Every label connects outward: hooks, formats and tactics are shared classes across a library of 220,000+ fully analyzed viral videos, with 6,500+ hook patterns, 4,900+ formats and 21,000+ tactics, so you can open the Product Demo class and see how the same shape performs across the niche rather than trusting one video.

Now the honest part. Blossom has no free tier: every plan starts with a 7-day trial that needs a card and charges nothing before day 7. Starter is $9.99 per month for 10 video analyses; the suggestions engine and insight views start on Creator at $39 for 50. We cover Instagram and TikTok only, with no YouTube Shorts, and none of LinkedIn, Facebook or X. We write scripts grounded in examples that already worked in your niche, but we do not generate footage. And if your job is a multi-network client report, we are not a replacement for a benchmarking suite.

2. Rival IQ, the like-for-like benchmarking swap

If what you actually want is Socialinsider’s job done by someone else, Rival IQ is the closest match. Checked today: competitive benchmarking across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and TikTok, with social post analysis by hashtags, topics and timing.

It sits at a higher price point. Drive is listed at $239 per month (10 tracked companies, 6 months of history, 1 user), Engage at $349 (20 companies, 12 months, 2 users) and Engage Pro at $559 (40 companies, 24 months, 5 users), with 15% off annual plans. The trial is 14 days with no card, and it offers free head-to-head reports and live industry benchmarks without a subscription. Like Socialinsider, it does not advertise a breakdown of a single video.

3. Metricool, the free plan with competitor tracking

Metricool is the most generous genuinely free option here. Its free plan, checked today, covers one brand, lets you track 5 competitor profiles, keeps 30 days of analytics history and schedules up to 20 posts a month. Paid plans start at Starter from $25 per month and Advanced from $67, both with up to 100 competitors.

It spans many networks, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Threads, and doubles as a scheduler. The pricing page does not advertise per-video hook, retention or format analysis.

4. Not Just Analytics, for free public-profile lookups

Not Just Analytics covers Instagram and TikTok, and its homepage invites you to try it free on any public profile. Paid subscriptions add competitor and influencer lists you can compare over time, 12 months of insights, branded PDF reports and collaborator access. It also offers an automatic analysis of your own latest post, with recommendations on what and when to post and which hashtags to use.

The homepage did not list plan prices when we checked; the pricing link led into the app. Its post-level analysis is for your own latest post, not someone else’s video.

5. Exolyt, if TikTok is your whole world

Exolyt is TikTok-specific and goes deep on it: account, hashtag and sound analytics, video comments with sentiment, audience age and gender, an influencer database, and video transcriptions on its Advanced plan. Its pricing page lists a zero-cost Basic tier, framed as a trial, with no card, tracking one TikTok account and one hashtag. Essentials and Advanced scale to 50 and 300 tracked accounts.

The page showed us prices in local currency, so we are not quoting a dollar figure. Transcripts and sentiment get closer to the content than most benchmarking does, but it does not advertise a hook score, format class or drop-off map, and it does not cover Instagram.

6. CreatorScope, the cheapest per-video breakdown

If you want a per-video read without a subscription, CreatorScope is the cheapest route. Checked today: it scores the hook from 1 to 10, estimates retention and drop-off, detects the format, and breaks down storytelling structure and audience psychology, with text-overlay suggestions. Pricing is one-time: €2.49 for one video, €8.49 for up to 10 and €21.49 for up to 50. No login and no account connection are needed.

The trade-off is direction. The page frames the product around your own handle (“drop your @”), and its examples are Instagram Reels, though the header also names TikTok. It does not advertise competitor tracking or a library you can compare a video’s classes against.

Pick by what you are actually doing

  • You report on many brand accounts across six networks. Stay on Socialinsider, or compare it with Rival IQ. Neither is what this page is about, and both do that job well.
  • You want to spend nothing today. Metricool’s free plan for competitor tracking, Not Just Analytics for public-profile lookups, or Exolyt’s Basic tier if you only post on TikTok.
  • You want a per-video read of your own drafts, cheaply. CreatorScope, from €2.49 with no subscription.
  • You want to know why a specific competitor video worked, and whether you can repeat it. Blossom. The six-question breakdown of someone else’s video, connected to shared classes across the library, is the part the others do not advertise.
  • LinkedIn, Facebook, X or YouTube Shorts matter to you. Pick anything here except us.

Can you use Socialinsider and Blossom together?

Yes, and for a brand with a content team it is the natural split. Socialinsider tells you which competitor account is pulling ahead and which of their posts are winning. Blossom tells you what those winning posts actually did, second by second, and what your version should change. The benchmark finds the video; the breakdown explains it. If you are building the habit for your own account too, the monthly content audit is a good place to start.

To see the depth for yourself, start a trial and put one competitor video you have been wondering about through it, or read the FAQ first to see what each plan includes.
